Project Life 2013: Week 27

Hi there!  I’m happy to be sharing the pages from the second half of our trip to New Mexico this summer.  I had a perfect balance of pictures taken by my iPhone, my Cannon, & my sister.

We had a fun week spent swimming, exercising, visiting with friends, and spending time as a family.  We also received the sad news of the Granite Mountain Hot Shots perishing in the Yarnell fire on Sunday night.  You can see the two posts I did about the memorials through town here and here.

Our family took a trip up the Sandi Peak Tram one of the days we were there and my sister was able to snap tons of family photos.  I included an additional insert (design c) that included my favorite photos from that day.

That’s it for this week!  I had lots of pictures that I wanted to include so it is picture heavy, but I love it!

I’m linking up with The Mom Creative, so head over and check out all the other Project Life pages.

Project Life: Week 16

Wow!  Another week gone by & another week documented!  I truly do LOVE this project!  Each week I wonder whether or not I will really want to put another week together, but I do.  This past week was one of our busiest weeks so far this year so I had no problem having enough pictures and “stuff” to put in my pages.  Last week I used Design E for the 1st time, so of course this week’s 1st page was the back of Design E.  I used Design F (one of my favorites!) on the right hand page.  Below is a shot of the entire layout.

Design E really allowed me to make “mini” layouts to share the girls’ choir performances, Sky’s zoo field trip, & having dinner with some of Chris’ family that we don’t get to see a lot.  I carried the theme throughout using shipping tags & green thickers.  I was pleased with how it turned out.

The right side of my layout has a mix of pictures from our time swimming at my parents’ time share this weekend, tags from clothes shopping with Skylar, & a picture of the book I read this past week.

I continue to love using the Martha Stewart labels and paper clips each week.

I included a picture and a bit of journaling about the passing of Dick Clark.  He was a huge part of my youth (I LOVED American Bandstand!) and I can’t imagine a New Year’s Eve without him.  I also included the sweet note that I received from my MeMe in the mail this week.  I slipped it into the mini chevron bag that I picked up from a store in Phoenix.  It fits perfectly into the journaling slot.

I got the “All Smiles” badge and the “Here & Now” badge shown above from Ormolu. I love their shop!!  The circle journal cards are from my stash.  I got them from Every Jot and Tittle years ago, but they have some great goodies, perfect for project life in stock!

Well, there you have it!  Another week done.  I have had several people ask how I print my instagrams.  I personally use Photoshop Elements.  It came with my printer that I bought in December.  I know that there are other options.  My recommendation is to google “how to print instagrams” and a lot of different options will pop up.

I’m looking forward to seeing the different pages linked up this week at The Mom Creative!  I didn’t get to visit many last week as I was so busy that I spent maybe a total of 1 hour on-line all week.  Make sure you go check out the awesome ladies that link-up!

Project Life: Week 13

Lucky number 13! Can’t believe it is already April!  April is going to be a big month here on the blog as it is Autism Awareness Month.  Make sure you check back for great information and giveaways this month.  You can read my post from yesterday here.  If you don’t want to miss anything, you can subscribe to my blog in the upper right hand corner.  You enter your e-mail & it shoots you a message whenever I post.  Simple as that.

So onto my pages for the week. I’m still loving this way of documenting our every day.  I kept it pretty simple again this week and I love the freedom in that! Below is a shot of my entire layout.

If you have been to my blog more than once, you know that I love to add splashes of color throughout my layouts.  Below is the left page.  The pink polka-dotted card with the heart is another card from this set that I downloaded a month ago.  Kristina & Crystal made such a great & versatile set.

Some of our best friends from New Mexico came for a visit this past weekend.  The entire right hand page is devoted to that visit.  We played lots of cards and had tons of laughs.  We are so thankful for great friends that love us & our girls.

Here is a close-up of the left-hand page.  I used another one of the journals from Marta Writes.  I love that they are quick & easy to fill in and I love that it adds a great glimpse into my life right at that moment.  I also added the statistic from the CDC that came out last week.  They said that 1 in 88 children have autism in the United States. That’s a lot of children & families affected by autism.

I loved the picture below of my friend Ruthie sitting on the couch looking through my project life album.

Well there you have it.  A pretty simple layout of a great week!  I’m already looking forward to next week and capturing all of our Easter festivities. Even though Easter is Sunday, I will be including that in next week’s layout as my family will be here this weekend to celebrate. I don’t stress out about adding an extra day in.  Another lovely thing about project life!

I am linking up as always to The Mom Creative  and One Happy Mama.  Head over and check out some really great project life inspiration.  I love the people I have met through these link-ups.

Project Life: Week 6

Six weeks in & I am still LOVING project life.  I love putting my pages together & feeding my creative spirit. I love that this week I have a mix of pictures from instagram, my iPhone, & my instax polaroid camera.  I continue to love including a picture of the movie I watched along with the ticket stub, stitching on my pages, & adding tidbits like receipts or food packaging from our week.  I will be adding a 6×12 page protector including this blog post that I wrote last week, but I ran out of 12×12 white card stock so I will print it out when I pick some up later this week.  I love that my husband actually asked “Why didn’t you include a blog post this week?  That’s my favorite!”

Well, let’s get on with it shall we?  As always first up is a picture of the whole week.

The left page is the Design A protector and the right page is Design F.  I usually stick with Design A, but this week I just wanted to mix things up.

I love bright colors & always like to add splashes of color to my pages. I also included the pink receipt from the towing company from when I had a tire blowout on Monday.

Used washi tape, word stickers, & Martha Stewart labels for some journaling.

I enjoyed adding smaller square instagram photos (2.25 inches).  They are a fun size to work with.  I also love learning new things so this week I used this tutorial by Ali Edwards to learn how to print 2 3×4 pictures on a 4×6.  I had these cute pictures of the girls with some of their favorite people…Monica, the receptionist at our chiropractors office & Dr. Ben, our chiropractor.  Skylar seriously has a crush on Dr. Ben; she thinks he is “so handsome!” I used the tutorial to crop the images & merge them together for a vertical picture slot.

So there you have it!  Week 6 complete!   I’m linking up with The Mom Creative and her Project Life Tuesday group. Head over and check out all the awesome inspiration.
