An Outpouring of Love

Image

Earlier this week I shared the photos of some of the love & support that our community has displayed for the 19 Granite Mountain Hot Shots that perished in the Yarnell fire.  If you missed seeing those, you can either scroll down or click HERE to view them.

When we returned home from our vacation, we knew that we wanted to go to the Hot Shots station to leave flowers.  When we pulled up to the station, we were overwhelmed by the amount of people there as well as all the different items that were left there in remembrance of these brave men.

The shirts from fire departments all over the country brought me to tears. Firefighters are truly a band of brothers!

I was in awe of this sign from the Woyjeck family. To think that they took time to thank our community during such an emotional time for them was overwhelming! What an amazing family!

There were so many different memorials with 19 flags.

The memorial grows each and every day.  These 19 men were part of an elite crew who not only protected our town and the surrounding areas, but helped fight wild fires all over the country.  They were humble, loving, giving, and sacrificial.  Thank you just doesn’t seem like enough.

Please continue to pray for the families of these men.  The days ahead are sure to be dark.  I pray that long after the media leaves and everyone goes back to their day to day lives, that we will be standing by their sides, loving and supporting them!

  1. Thanks for sharing this. For those of us not living there, it gives us an important insight and reminder of what really happened there…….and how we need to also pray for those families long after the media is gone.
